Goddess, She Gone

Goddess got away today,
Feathers scattered ‘cross the floor.
Goddess ain’t the kind to stay.
Goddess saw the open door.

Goddess, she gone.

Goddess made her getaway.
No one saw her as she left.
Goddess left at break of day.
Goddess left us while we slept.

Goddess, she gone.

She lived on a weathervane,
Shifting with the wind.
She knew that the hurricane
Would blow away
What might have been…

Goddess, she left yesterday.
We’re all gathered in the smoke.
Goddess please come back and stay.
All our mortal hearts are broke.

Goddess, she gone.
